A Promising Future Cut Short

Family and friends are forever heartbroken over the sudden and tragic loss of Samantha Rose Liber who was taken from us far too soon. Sami, as she was lovingly known, was a vibrant young woman with a bright future ahead. She passed away August 8, 2024, as a result of an ATV incident while on a trip with her family in Jackson, Wyoming. Sami had just celebrated her 16th birthday and was enjoying the freedom and independence of her new driver’s license, a milestone she had eagerly anticipated.

Born and raised on the west side of Los Angeles, Sami spent her life in the close-knit community of Brentwood. She grew up just a short bike ride from the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by a loving family, including her parents, Rod and Carla Liber, and her older sister, Ava. Sami’s life was filled with the warmth of family gatherings, the joy of friendships, and the support of a community that cherished her.

Sami was a student at Brentwood School from Kindergarten and was about to enter her junior year, excited to be serving as the editor of the yearbook and as a dedicated member of the varsity cheer team. A budding artist with a passion for art, design, and photography, Sami had a creative spirit that was evident in everything she did. She had a unique ability to capture the beauty around her, whether through her artwork or her photography, and she was excited to continue honing her talents in the coming years.

In her free time, Sami loved to explore her hometown, driving to nearby hangouts like Palisades Village, Malibu Country Mart, and Abbot Kinney while listening to her favorite music. She had a deep appreciation for popular local spots and was a frequent visitor to places like Caffe Luxxe, Sugarfish, SoulCycle, Belwood Bakery, and the Brentwood Country Mart. Recently, she had started working part-time at the Brentwood General Store on Montana Avenue and was also volunteering with Allied For Children, reflecting her generous spirit and desire to give back to her community.

Sami’s love for travel was another defining aspect of her life. With her family, she traveled extensively around the world, always playing an active role in planning their adventures. She would help curate the vacations by pouring over social media and the internet to find picturesque destinations and the best local dining, helping to make each trip more memorable. Her favorite destination was Lake Como, and she often spoke of her desire to return.

Sami had a special love for animals, especially her dog Myles, who she kissed and hugged every single day. Even on tough days, Myles would make her smile.

The loss of Sami leaves an indescribable void in the lives of her family, friends, and the entire Brentwood community. Rod, Carla and Ava are committed to keeping Sami’s memory alive. They will forever cherish the spirit, style, and sense of humor that made Sami so special.

Sami’s life, though tragically cut short, was filled with love, laughter, and creativity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those she touched.
